A horizontal manifold spanning the front beam of a rack frame with ports evenly spaced

Horizontal rack manifolds — front-of-rack distribution

The header runs across the front of the rack, over the aisle the technicians already work from, with the CDU feed arriving from the top.

Ports that do not line up with the server row cannot be reached, however good the manifold is. Confirm the pitch before the drawing is released; changing it afterwards moves every port in the row. Source: industry practice.

Finish Passivated stainless, corrosion resistance · industry practice
Prototype lead time 7 working days industry practice · not a committed delivery date

Bore roughness is what keeps the loop clean downstream; the tolerance is what keeps the port row on the drawing. The lead time above is what the industry quotes for a prototype run, not a date this page commits to.

Length and configuration

Three standard lengths plus custom · industry practice

Three horizontal manifold tubes of clearly different length lying together
Supplied lengths 42U / 48U / 50U industry practice, plus custom configurations
Port count Per elevation quoted from the rack elevation drawing
Lead time On review given with the drawing review · industry-typical

Length follows the rack, not a catalogue: the same header is cut and ported to the elevation you send, which is why the port count is quoted rather than listed.

Length driver Rack U height the same series that sets the vertical family's heights
Cross-check 42U → 50U length and rack height are read off one drawing

The deciding question Which aisle the side the rack is serviced from decides it

Racks serviced from the front aisle take the front-mounted header; racks serviced from the rear take the 0U column. Choosing against the service aisle is the one mistake that cannot be fixed with a longer hose.

Right: the 0U rear column

EIA or ORv3?

Send the rack standard, the node count and the length you need. The pitch is confirmed first: EIA 1.75 in (44.45 mm) or ORv3 1.89 in (48 mm).
